BBC News Online: Apple announces Windows browser

"Apple has launched a version of its web browser Safari for Windows, competing head to head with Microsoft's Explorer and Mozilla's Firefox. He [Steve Jobs] said Safari was "the fastest browser on Windows", saying it was twice as fast as Internet Explorer.

A test version of Safari 3 for Windows XP, Vista and Apple Macs running OSX, is available for download from the Apple website. Apple is hoping to replicate the success of iTunes, which has proved enormously popular on both Macs and Windows machines. "We think Windows users are going to be really impressed when they see how fast and intuitive web browsing can be with Safari," said Mr Jobs. "

Actually downloaded this too try out before I spotted this thread.

I thought Apples aim in life was to make things simple?

Install Firefox, import bookmarks etc... piece of piss.

Safari?.........Still working on that one......


And what's with the spider? I don't even like spiders, now I'm living on the floor at mothers I spend half my life running away from my brothers tarantulas and now there's one staring at me on screen!!!!!!

I'm using it atm (trying to get used to Mac software for when i get my Imac) claims to be faster than FF and IE but i totally disagree my IE is soo responsive, Saf jst seems really slow and i know its a beta but IE is still the browser for me im afraid
