Post subject:  Video cards again
Need new card/s. Had trouble with my present 8600gt x 2. Fans seized from overheating; replacement fans seem to be almost as much as a new 8600 card, so i think get a new card. :(

I see what everyone says is wonderful, but just wanted some verification on what is suitable for me/my system.

I'll just ramble some spec here, and maybe someone would be able to tell me if my ideas are not compatible.

ASUS M2N-E SLI motherboard
AMD Athlon x 2 5600+
1GB DDR2-667 RAM

So, heard the 9800gtx + SLI was a good one. Pricey though. Much point in having 2? Must i have 2, as i had 2 8600s and also my motherboard says SLI (?)

Or maybe something else would do? Suggestions welcome.

No need for 2.. just cos it says sli you dont need sli.. ;)

1 9800 should do the trick.. will most if not all fps that have been released.

Just waiting for my board to be repaired..... :cry:

Have you checked to see if your card is still in warranty? Tried sourcing the fans yourself?

I think i might've voided the warranty by taking the fan out and oiling it. :beye: Though I don't remember getting an nvidia warranty note. hmmm.
