ok guys...here's hoping you can help !!!

i'm on a mission to build a new pc  (dont worry...i have help !!!) but i really dont have a clue as to what i'm looking for !!!

i have a budget of between £400-£500 (i can push this a teeny bit !!) and need to buy everything apart from mouse and keyboard

i will be using it mainly for gaming so need something based around that....but still able enough to handle a bit of multi tasking

please bear in mind that i'm a total n00b when it comes to pc components and dont have a clue about compatability....so please go easy on me

any help will be greatfully received :D

What your keeping out the old one? Is it just the box you need or you starting from scratch, eg monitor, keyboard mouse and everything?

If thats your budget and you do really need everything i'd suggest buying a
pre-built one from pc world or something :O Building your own isn't cheaper i
found and unless you want to do it because its something that really interests
you, or you really want specific components (certain processors/graphics
cards/audio cards) i';d stick with the mass market ones.

Custom PC build a PC for £500

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/custompc/feature ... String=500

Coupla months old so some prices have changed, eg you can get a E6600 for the price they paid for a E6300 CPU, but should give you a good starting list.

Just remember for a gaming PC to emphasis the graphics card.

Havent read that one, but if its anything like the last article it should be a nice pc, they just arent designed for extreme overclocking, or being ultra quiet which custom pc tends to push towards in their lab tests.
