well i am thinking of upgrading my pc a bit (not to expensively) mainly because i want to up my ram,,currently have a 1 gig of ram 2x512 pc2700 333mhz,,my motherboard only has 2 memory slots and only allows a maximum of 1 gig anyway,i currently have athlon 64 3000+ cpu(which i think is 2.0ghz),,my graphics card is an agp socket x800xt..basically i want to upgrade my motherboard one with an agp slot so i can continue to use the graphics card i have, with at least 4 memory slots (preferably 1 compatible with my current 2 512 memory sticks so i can just buy another 2 the same),,also looking to get a new cpu preferably above 3.0 ghz...dont mind if its going to be a motherboard compatible with athlon or pentium 4,,i will use what parts are now in my pc to keep costs down,so my power unit, graphics card, memory, case,hd,cdrw etc,,i have been given some advice by nicey (thanks) but just wanted some more advice,,my pc currently has windows xp,,should i stick to 1 cpu with for instance pentium 4 that is 3.4 ghz or should i go dual core,,nicey did say if i go dual core i may have to reformat and possibly get more new parts which i dont want, any advice would be gratefull, like i said need a motherboard that has a agp connection, compatable with pc2700 memory,at least 4 memory slots, any advice and reccomedations would be gratefull,,nicey mentioned an asus p4p800 deluxe motherboards but finding it hard to get hold of one, think they have stopped making them, although it had everything i was looking for ie agp,memoryx4 slots and compatible with pc2700 memory,,think that was a 478 socket so would need pentium cpu, thanks for reading and sorry if i woffled on a bit
