i don't know if i am writing on the right section... i have hardware problems but looks like there isnot solution ![]() ![]() ![]() ] i spelt cofee on my laptop (sony), and now delete key is not working, the enter key make the ] symbol... ], and the spacebar works randomly ] i allreadytake off all my keys, clean and clean but this morning i woke up and i still have these problems] ] is it expensive to repair it? what do u think?] ofocurse i have warranty that doesn't cover my spilled cofee ![]() ] i think i really need a correct and working properly spacebar/delete/enter] ] ] damnit wih all the btns how come that the most 3 importants arenot working. i cannot even type a website in google and press enter ![]() ] i am kinda of hoping that it get betters, yetsterday 6 keys didn't work.... ] i m done with all the swearing, i hope today i can get someone to fix it at good ![]() ![]() ![]() ] *btw sorry for the mistakes... |

Try cleaning it again and then have it (without keys) sitting in the window or near a heater (keep an eye on it). If that doesn't work them it's probrably busted....and I hear laptop keyboard replacements can get expensive. |

do you need to use it 'portably' - cos you could always lug a usb keyboard in. seems worrying that rather than not working, the keys are replacing themselves with other letters - sounds like you take sugar ? |

hmmm it is a sony vaio sz3. i am using an external keyboard now, tmr gonna check how much is it in few shops. one guy today told me around 200 pounds ![]() or forget it and i am gonna keep going with usb keyboard for now but ty all for the moral support, ty lemon for offer a keyboard btw i had toshiba before and cooke/londonrain/water didn't damage at all with a sony just give it a bit of coffe and it's messed up ![]() oh well let's see tmr... |

IIRC, Slappeh recommended lifting all the keys off, then scrubbing the underlying board vigorously with soapy water and a brillo pad. This makes sure that there is no stale milk smell, or sticking afterwards. You could use kitchen roll to dry it off, but I find a hairdryer blasts the remaining water out of the way and into the voids inside the case typically used for battery drainage, but same thing applies here. Hope his advice helps ![]() |
