when i start up my aunt's laptop and enable the wlan it takes half a minute or so before it finally connects to the network i can live with that but after a while the connection gets stopped or something and i can't reconnect anymore either, i can still see the available networks but actually connect? ![]() when i use repair it says it can't disable the adapter ![]() the only thing i can do is restart the laptop after which i can surf online for another 5 minutes before it screws up again ![]() it's getting worse and worse, i had this a couple of times before but the last week or so it's becoming a bit to much ![]() ![]() it's an intersil PRISM 802.11g Wireless Adapter (3890) and i'm running norman antivirus and ewido anti spyware (don't know if they got anything to do with it but maybe it's over-using it's bandwith or something and fails? ![]() ![]() i downloaded new drivers for it but they're just dll's, cat, sys, inf and an ini file ![]() there was 1 exe in another folder but that didn't change anything ![]() (i didn't have any problems whatsoever with my own laptop, and neither do the desktops) |

it's on low but on my own laptop the strength was decent :/ if it was the signal quality then the having to restart before being able to reconnect wouldn't make much sense right? ![]() ![]() |

Try optimizing everything? And get rid of Norton, its too much hassle than its worth. |
