Unless you run it at default res you will make it almost un usable. If you try and raise the res above the max your screen can handle you will either bugger it up or it will look pants. If youre not happy with your screen then you should be able to use an external, normal PC screen that can run higher res's. Also the main limiting factor of resolutions is the graphics card on the laptop. I know nVidia and ATI both have hacked tools that can mess or 'Overclock' certain graphics card but google before you try it, some work other bork
