This should be a riot! My system atm is dual boot (Ubuntu 7.10, XP Pro, on separate hard drives) and the XP hard drive is a little sick. While I'm at it, I'm going to upgrade or clean install Ubuntu to Hard Herron (as I feel now is a good time). So, for the option of total failure in the air, wish me luck. ![]() |

I'd disagree on upgrade, when I upgraded to 7.10 it destroyed X, and took a few other things with it. |

I remember doing something similar and had to boot into recovery mode to create a totally new one. ![]() |

(The background u didn't get:) I TRIED to enable compiz on 7.10 version of Ubuntu. It did a few weird things so, I think I might take a backup and CLEAN install it FTW! AT least it's done for me in Hardy Herron ![]() ![]() |

mkisofs will NOT make DVD Video ISO filesystems correctly in Hardy. If you have a dig around, you'll find that mkisofs has been replaced by genisoimage in Hardy, and the cdrkit libraries are at fault. A later version of the cdrkit libraries is supposed to fix the problem, but I haven't been able to verify this yet as the cdrkit sources failed to compile on my Hardy box. |
