got a mac mini under me tv - dvi to hdmi for the picture ( looks amazing )
and for sound a fiber cable into the amp - works a treat for dvd`s / divx etc
eccept when the sound codec is ac3 - the front speak where voice comes out is very quite - if i turn up the amp`s volume the speach is drowned but the other speaks playing the explossions etc
cant see where to change setting for this - anyone else know ?

What amp is it? Many high end amps have settings for speaker size and gain could be it thinks the centre is small so diverts some of the centre channel signal to the fronts. My amp has many settings reachable only though hidden menus. Also I think giving advice to you is like advising Caeser on battle tactics.

Not too high end then . There is a manual here. Check out page 34, there is a dynamic range setting which could account for the quiet centre. I'd certainly have a play with this and the levels.
Failing that I'd buy one of these like wot I did.

Yes it really is.
It has RS232 and I have been meaning to write a GUI for it for ages. One day.
